Welcome to the Hartford Consortium for Higher Education. Our eleven member institutions consist of both public and private universities and colleges, including community colleges and four year universities as well as the region’s two seminaries.
We are committed to sustained partnerships across the campuses to enhance the experience and professional life of the students, faculty and staff of our members, and we actively welcome suggestions and ideas for new collaborations and initiatives.
Additionally, the Consortium has long been committed to working in the area to address issues of educational equity, access to higher education, improved post-secondary outcomes for at-risk youth, transition to college, degree completion and the economic and civic benefits that come with a well-educated and engaged citizenry.
Through such programs as Career Beginnings, Jobs for America’s Graduates, Jr. Apprentice, Hartford Promise, and the Center for Higher Education Retention Excellence, we partner throughout the state with high school districts, other higher education institutions, state agencies, corporations, foundations and other non-profits to build and improve pathways to success for often our most vulnerable young people.
